MOSQUITO CONTROL AND TREATMENT

Mosquitos are not just harmless and annoying. They pose serious health concerns to both people and pets. With just one bite, mosquitos can transmit any number of unpleasant, and in some cases life-threatening diseases, including the West Nile virus. It is commonly believed their bites are the number one cause of heart worm disease in dogs and cats. Because of the milder winters and warmer summers, we not only experience a greater number of the species that we have always been infested with, but we are also being invaded by new ones on a constant basis. Although most mosquitos are generally active at dusk and dawn the Asian tiger is active throughout the day.

There are some easy measures that everyone can do around homes, workplaces, and outdoor recreational areas. They include checking for any standing or pools of water. These commonly occur in any containers, bird baths, tires, flowerpots, outdoor kid’s play toys or any other areas where water pools. The goal is to have NO STANDING WATER in the immediate and surrounding areas.
